| In May 1997 the Police Unity Tour was organized by Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park Police Department, with the hope of bringing public awareness of Police Officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. In 1997 they begin with 18 riders on a four day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park, NJ to National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washing, DC which raised $18,000.00. Team North Myrtle Beach is beginning preparation for the 2009 Police Unity Tour Ride. This years ride is dedicated to raising awareness of fallen Police Officers as well as raises finds for the National Law Enforcement Memorial. The team from North Myrtle Beach will be making the Three day ride in May of this year. Each rider must raise $1,500.00 to participate in the ride. The money raised goes to the Fallen Officer Memorial and National Police Officers Museum in Washington DC. No donation is too small.
