ONLINE Iran cancels Iraq security talks with Iran called off further Iraq security talks with Washington until U.S. forces stop their crackdown on Shiite militias, but the military brought more air power into the fight Monday and escalated its accusations of Iranian backing for extremists.

The latest flare-up has put Iraq's government in a bind as it seeks to stamp out armed Shiite gangs but worries about angering Shiite heavyweight Iran, which has close ties to the core of Iraq's political leadership.

Washington has long accused Iran of arming and training some Shiite militia factions. The accusations were sharpened Monday as the military said detainees described being trained at bases outside Tehran by militants from Hezbollah, an Iranian-aided faction based in Lebanon. LOTTERIES South

WNMB Antique Car Show Print

Attention Classic and Antique Car Owners and Fans!     

On Saturday, April 12th beginning at 10 a.m. WNMB will be hosting a “Cruise to the Coast” display of Antique, classic and specialty Ford automobiles at the new Atlantic Ford at highway 9 in Longs. If you own a classic Mustang, Thunderbird, or any classic Ford, bring it to the show and put it on display. Every participant will receive cash for gas and a special prize. There will also be a “Peoples Choice” Best of the day award.  There’s no charge to display a car, and spectators are welcome.
