MyrtleBeachOnline.com: News News, sports and entertainment from MyrtleBeachOnline.com Students sell Christmas cheer The horticulture students at Carolina Forest High School are selling about 750 poinsettias and 350 Christmas cactuses they have grown.

The plants will be sold at the school from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Pirates on the Pier

The Historic Cherry Grove Pier will be the site of a unique Halloween Party on October 27, 2007 from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The 985 foot pier with 2-story observation deck will be decorated for this special Halloween event. Guests will be required to “Walk the Plank” onto the pier and into a world of pirates and fun.The Grand Strand area has been host to several pirates and boasts its share of ghost’s stories. “Captain Jack” will be on hand to share local tales and to spin a yarn or two.Carnival style games will highlight the evening. Tickets for games may be purchased at the door. Cotton Candy and popcorn will be among the refreshments available. In addition, The Prince Resort is home to two oceanfront restaurants.Judges will be on hand to award prizes for best costume in a variety of age groups. Adults and children are encouraged to don their costumes in an attempt to win the hearts of our judges.Admission is $4.00 per person at the door. Group and advanced sales are $3.00 per person if purchased by October 15, 2007. Contact The Reservations Department at the Prince Resort (843-417-1300) for reservations or more information.
